Changing forum username

I was wondering if my forum name could be changed (by mods/admin)?

Okay, I have a question... why do folks turn of the ability of users to change their own username? It's a feature that can be set in the admin control panel for phpBB, and I'm just curious as to why folks turn it off.

Probably to prevent people from abusing the feature?

Using long nicknames/offensive names - but changing it before the mods etc come?

Yes, I don't feel it's a good idea to allow name changes. As Luke said, it leads to abuse, and if people change their names too often you loose that "community spirit" Smile

, since nobody knows who's who anymore.
